Matarangi is an ideal place from which to explore the Coromandel Peninsula being midway between Whitianga on the East coast and Coromandel Town on the west coast of the peninsula. Only 45 minutes to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach (the two most visited tourist attractions on the Coromandel, but also centrally located to visit all the other sights on the the beautiful and fascinating Peninsula.
